🎿 Is The Mercedes 190E A Good Car
The 190E 2.3-16 proved to be an ideal platform for racing, setting the stage for a showdown with BMW. The ultimate 190E came in 1990 when Mercedes-Benz rolled out the Evolution II. It came standard with the AMG PowerPack, bumping the power of the 2.5-liter 16 valve Cosworth engine. Now making 232 hp and 181 lb-feet of torque, 0-60 times dropped
Mar 19, 2023. #1. I've been toying withe the idea of buying an old Mercedes Benz 190E when I retire my business in a year or two's time. I've often fancied one of these cars. They seem to have a mixture of quality and non-showiness that appeals. I'm thinking a 1992/1993 car with driver airbag and ABS. Probably an auto box. Something around £4
My 190e has gone through sixteen winters with me. I agree that fluids are key: coolant every three years, brake fluid and ATF every two years, and motor oil every year. Power steering goes five years. The rest of the car just goes and goes. The home of the two 201's.
Im getting a new car for A+ races even though i could just upgrade my eclipse some more, but i really like the 190E so i was wondering if its a good car? Archived post. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast.
The Merc proved to be a huge hit, with almost two million examples built in a production run that spanned more than a decade. The 190 is beginning to find favour in classic circles, thanks to a wide range of engines, solid build quality, and reliable day-to-day running. Nice examples are now being snapped up for what look like bargain prices
Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 - W201 (1984 to 1993) Introduced for the 1984 model year, the 190 E 2.3 was a early variant of the Mercedes-Benz 190. The 190E 2.3 was offered as a four door sedan powered by Mercedes' M102.961 engine. This 2.3L inline four engine generated 113hp, which it sent to the rear wheels via manual or automatic transmission options.
1982 Peugeot 604 TD – $6,000. Engine/drivetrain: Turbodiesel 2.3 liter overhead cam inline 4, five-speed manual, RWD. Operational status: Runs and drives, but stalls – suspected fuel starvation. Peugeot left the US market after 1991, due to poor sales, but in other parts of the world, its cars are legendary.
The 5-speed auto in the C280 and 4-speed auto in the 190E shift smooth and effortlessly. If you care about speed, these cars aren't the fastest, but they still have decent pickup because they are lightweight (2,900 lbs for 190e and 3,350 for C280). 2. throwaway_777_ the bus • 4 yr. ago.
